Experience five chef-crafted courses, each paired with competing wine selections chosen by two Master Sommeliers, a distinction held by fewer than 200 wine professionals in the United States.
Throughout the evening, each Sommelier will present the strategy behind their pairings while guests cast their votes course by course to determine which selections reign supreme.
Somm Smackdown brings together Master Sommeliers from across the Coury Hospitality portfolio for a three round wine competition where every pairing and every vote brings us one step closer to crowning the ultimate champion.
The competition kicks off September 24 at The National versus Hotel Carmichael, with each hotel hosting its own five course wine dinner featuring two Master Sommeliers going head to head. The two winning Sommeliers will then meet at Hotel Vin Rogers for Round Two, where they will compete for their place in the ultimate showdown.
From there, only one Sommelier will advance to the championship at Hotel Vin, where they will face the 2026 Somm Smackdown Champion for the title. Three rounds. Four hotels. One ultimate champion.
